Description

Painstakingly restored and renovated, this one-of-a-kind, Arts and Crafts style home is situated overlooking the historical and picturesque Walhalla ravine, and is featured on the Clintonville Homes Tour, “The Walk of Walhalla.” In 2005, the home underwent a significant remodel which was featured in publications such as the Columbus Dispatch and Columbus Monthly.  This remodel was widely publicized because the Owners’ determination to create an addition that enhanced the original structure without diluting the character. Along with Architect Gene Milhoan, they accomplished this by excavating and shoring up the lot to add a 2.5 car garage on the rear, higher elevation portion of the lot, and creating a 22’ glass atrium to connect the garage and the home, creating a statement entry, and adding a first floor Owners’ suite and a 3rd floor bonus room with private full bath. The key element and uniqueness of the renovation was restoration where possible, and the blending of old and new materials, which was done by using the same trim profiles, doors, glass doorknobs and period-correct fixtures.
