This historic fortress is located in the old part of the town of Chiusi and dates back to 1100 the first mention of the same. The property in question consists of a nineteenth-century historical building, an ancient watchtower, a country house and the relevant park that frames the three buildings. Location Chiusi is a town in the province of Siena of Etruscan origins. All services, including high schools are present. A few kilometers from the center is the well-served train station from which you can easily reach Florence, Rome and Milan. Places of interest such as Montepulciano, Pienza and Cortona are within a radius of 50Km. Historical Background The fortress is privately owned and is surrounded by a large park. Recent excavations have brought to light traces of the city walls of the Etruscan-Roman era (first half of the III century BC). Outside a wall has emerged, in squared blocks of travertine arranged on two rows, mostly stripped for the construction of the overlying Roman fortress. The northern side of the Roman fortress has been preserved, a wall eight meters high and eighty long; the rest was incorporated into the medieval walls. This side of the fortification is equipped with three towers, the lateral quadrangular ones and the central semi-cylindrical one. These fortification works date back to the first half of the first century. B.C. The first document that tells us about the Fortress of Chiusi brings the date of the year 1085. At that time belonged to Count Bulgaro, of the family of the Farolfi counts. Description It is a property of great historical and architectural value as well as of inestimable value for the city of Chiusi itself. The large size and the possibility of recovering the original materials will allow a revaluation of extraordinary level, regardless of the type of use that you will want to do. The property is surrounded by a private park of about 3 hectares in which there are secular trees with tall trees and also olive trees. The value of the property is outside the classic market mechanisms as we are faced with a real estate complex not only unique in its kind but surrounded by a charm and an historical value even more unique. Potential use This prestigious complex requires and deserves a complete restoration and subsequent reconversion. The potential of the property is immense and very varied. It could in fact be used as a very high level accommodation facility with the permission to create a SPA and a swimming pool.
