This is the name of the part of the Landsmeer local authority that was added to Amsterdam on 1 August 1966. The name Kadoelen (or Quadolen) may be found as early as 1375. In 1429 there was mention of the manor of Landsmeer and the manor of Quadolen, which both had the same lord at the time. Old maps indicate Kadoelen as a hamlet beside the Waterlandse sea dike (Landsmeerderdijk). The Kadoelenweg was taken over under the name of Zuideinde on 01-08-1966 but in 1970 the name was changed due to confusion with the Zuideinde (previously Oostzaan).
