Aston Martin even designed a new car just for the latest Bond movie Spectre. So would you like to feel like the world’s greatest spy? This is a selection of cars that played an important role in a James Bond movie.

Aston Martin DBS V12 featured in "Casino Royal" (2006) and "Quantum of solace" (2008) The DBS V12 has no special gadget in the second Casino Royal movie, but it offers James Bond a hidden compartment which stores his Walther P99 and an emergency med kit. In the movie Quantum of solace the DBS V12 was featured again. Unfortunately it is heavily damaged in the chase scene at the beginning of the movie.

Aston Martin V8 Volante 1985 featured in "The Living Daylights"(1987). "We’re just winterizing it". The convertible is later winterized by Q with a hardtop, which is not possible in the reality. It comes with specials equipment such as extending side outriggers, missiles, lasers, spike-producing-tires and a self-destruction system.

Aston Martin V12 Vanquish featured in "Die Another Day" (2002). This car is equipped with many gadgets. The adaptive camouflage is the most unusual one. The other refinements are thermal imaging, missiles under the grill, ejector seat, machine guns and tyre spikes. This Bond car is especially remembered for the car chase scene in and around the Ice Palace.

BMW Z8 Roadster featured in "The world is not enough" (1999). Pierce Brosnan is introduced to the BMW Z8 by Q’s assistant at the beginning of the movie. The special features of the car are air missiles behind the side air intakes, an infra-red tracking system, a high-sensitivity listening device and it can be remote controlled via the key fob. At the end it is unfortunately cut in half by a big chainsaw.

Ford Fairlane 1975 featured in "Die Another Day"(2002).The Ford Fairlane is just driven briefly by James Bond during his visit in Cuba. Unfortunately Bond doesn’t do anything special with it. It is an homage to the movie „Thunderball“ where the Ford Fairlane is driven by villain Count Lippe.

Lotus Esprit Turbo featured in "For your Eyes only"(1981) The script called for two different cars. The white model appears in the scene on Corfu, where the car destroys itself when somebody tries to break into it. After this incident he gets another one. This time the car is resprayed in Bronz, as the white version lacked contrast for the scenes in the ski resort Cortina.
