who was born in Barlassina in 1931 studied painting at the Art Academy Brera. He normally paints by using his bare hands. Vago focuses on a visceral work process which excludes the concrete idea of a final result. Very similar to ideas of Jonathan Meese, Valentino Vago sees himself as a servant of art. The dimensions of his works range from smaller canvases to large spaces. A total effect of color and quality can only be recognized by the viewer in front of Vago’s original artwork.
Since graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts Brera Valentino Vago has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including the Biennale de São Paulo, the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, the Hayward Gallery in London, the Grand Palais in Paris and in the art museums in Frankfurt, Hannover, Vienna and Berlin. His works are part of private and public collections in Italy and abroad.
