Description

Another stonking vintage from Le Pin.

All of my wine is held in Bond at Vine International in London (UK). This case is in perfect condition and comes in Original Wooden Case. My private agent, Mr Robert Reed, is managing the sale of my stock, and would love to talk to you to talk more about the wine and arrange shipping of the wine to your preferred location.

Sadly I have just one case of this most excellent Vintage.
Full provenance available on request and pictures of stock in warehouse available to serious interested parties.

94 Points - Wine Spectator - Full-bodied, with lots of berry, chocolate and light dried spice character, followed by a long finish. Not the 1998, or even the 2001, but outstanding.

93 Points -
Robert M Parker Jnr - The alluring fragrance is followed by an opulent, luscious Pomerol with flamboyant flavors of ripe black fruits intermixed with hints of roasted herbs, meat juices, plums, and Asian spices.

Le Pin
Chateau Le Pin is a 5-acre estate in Pomerol. The wine produced here is considered a forerunner of the “garagiste” Bordeaux now produced in the region. Though Le Pin has existed for more than a century, the estate was purchased in 1979 by Jacques Thienpont, whose family also owns nearby Vieux Chateau Certan. The estate grows 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc and produces only about 7,000 bottles a year. Le Pin receives high ratings and that combined with its scarcity often makes it one of the world’s most expensive wines. Robert M. Parker Jr. has called Le Pin “the most exotic and flamboyant of Pomerols” and adds that “Le Pin remains unequaled in terms of seduction, charm, and the sheer pleasure of drinking.”
