This ancient ”Leopoldina” villa surrounded by a beautiful olive grove is nestled on the wonderful hills between Pienza and Montepulciano, with a breathtaking view of the Val d’Orcia. The farmhouse is the result of a wise and sophisticated renovation, completed in 2020, that managed to create a modern and functional environment in compliance with its history and typical Tuscan features. Entering the main Villa on the ground floor we have a large living area with elegant sofas, a beautiful modern fireplace, a long dining table and a professional kitchen in total stainless-steel overlooking and open on the living room. The beamed and tiled ceilings and the ancient stone floors, combined with latest generation materials, create an environment full of poetry and extremely comfortable for a modern use of the property. The ground floor is completed by a laundry room and a courtesy bathroom. On the upper floor we have the sleeping area with 2 wonderful and large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. In the annex, there are the other 3 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, and the gym. The two buildings are connected by an ancient courtyard with original stone flooring. Here there is an elegant 5m x 5m gazebo that becomes the ideal area for lunches and dinners in company. The swimming pool, a spectacular ”infinity pool” in marble, enjoys an absolutely unique view of Pienza, Radicofani, Montalcino and Mount Amiata. The exteriors are embellished with comfortable oases of sofas where you can spend evenings in the summer months, a picturesque outdoor fireplace and a barbeque area for lovers of outdoor grills.
The medieval village of Montefollonico is a hidden jewel of the southern province of Siena. The ancient village, which dominates the Val di Chiana countryside and the nearby Val d’Orcia (a UNESCO heritage site), has over the years become one of the most sought-after destinations for tourists or for those wishing to purchase a property in this area of Tuscany. The village is located a few kilometres from the art cities of Montepulciano and Pienza and the thermal resorts of Bagno Vignoni and Chianciano Terme. It can be easily reached from both north and south along the A1 motorway, the Bettolle exit is about 15 km away. The nearest airport is Florence. Rome can be easily reached in 2 hours by car. Services, restaurants and grocery stores are all in the village.
