Villa Primitivo

In the heart of the peaceful countryside of Salento, nestled in the municipality of Sava, in the province of Taranto, and just five minutes from the crystal-clear waters of Puglia and the beautiful beaches of Campomarino di Maruggio, stands the majestic Villa Primitivo.

This rustic home has been transformed into a Mediterranean villa covering an area of about 130 m², located in the heart of the Mediterranean scrubland of Salento, between the municipalities of Sava, Torricella, and Manduria. It is nestled in a still wild and untouched area, where the lush nature exhales the enchanting scents of olive trees, maritime pines, rosemary, and prickly pears.

The enchanting atmosphere of this place and the spirit of the old buildings are enhanced by the addition of new natural elements, including the replacement of old stones with light tuff, a noble local material from the Tremola quarries, a historic district of the region. This rich and fertile land attests to its abundance through the proximity of Manduria, famous for its Primitivo vineyards and its ancient history dating back to the time of the Messapians (5th century BC).

Vast stretches of vineyards coexist with century-old olive trees, almond trees, and fig trees that still disappear into the horizon today.

It is with the aim of preserving these precious historical traces of the territory that the renovation project of the old farms was born. It interprets the original elements of local tradition, still perfectly preserved, in a contemporary and functional spirit.

The mystical environment is enriched by the presence of a Templar path and a recently restored Templar church, just a few steps from the villa.

A rigorous selection of natural materials, ranging from local wood to local stones, emphasizes this deep connection with the wild landscape, thus preserving the authenticity of local architecture. The project covers a plot of land of about 4500 m², complemented by a large Primitivo vineyard. It features a gate for private entry, an alarm system, and natural stone fences.

The villa benefits from excellent sun exposure and offers large, bright verandas with panoramic views of the vineyards. It consists of a covered entrance patio, a rear veranda with large windows overlooking the garden. Inside, a spacious living room with a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, two furnished bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and a living room with a stone fireplace.

Outside, there is a small concrete pool, a barbecue area, an outdoor bathroom, and a small storage room. It is also possible to install a magnificent 40 m² pool.
