Tatra is a Czech vehicle manufacturer founded in 1850 as Ignatz Schustala & Comp. Currently vehicles (only trucks) are produced in Kopřivnice and is owned by Tatra Trucks company, in Ostrava. Tatra is the third oldest company in the world that produce cars with unbroken history and produced the first motor car in central Europe - the Präsident automobile. It’s current name company owns to  the nearby Tatra Mountains on the Polish-Czechoslovak border (at the time of the naming - currently it’s the Polish-Slovak border). Due to fall of Soviet Union and the introduction of competitors such as  Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot into the Czech Republic brought the end of production of passenger cars in 1999. The company still produces trucks, but the older automobiles and passenger cars are sought after by collectors.

Who drives Tatra cars:
The cars are sought after by collectors due to rarity and the fact that they remain relatively unknown by western customers. One of the most well known advocates of this brand is Jay Leno - talk show host and car collector. He became enamored in Tatra cars after visiting the biggest museum of Tatra in United States at the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. Many Tatra collectors are associated with Citroën clubs because they also collect  Citroën DS series cars.

Rarity & Exclusivity:
When it comes to Tatra cars they are not produced anymore and the older models are sought after by collectors and connoisseurs of rare automobiles.
