What makes a Saleen special?
The project of a former Formula Atlantic racecar driver, Saleen made its name producing highly modified versions of American classics, most prominently the Ford Mustang. Notably, Saleen was the very last small manufacturer of American cars to enjoy OEM status, meaning that they were subject to federal regulations regarding design and testing – setting them apart from other companies dealing with aftermarket parts. 2000 saw the rise of their first completely original model, the S7, highly successful in Le Mans and other prestigious races. The twin-turbo model, released five years later, reached 100 km/h in a mere 2,8 seconds.
Who drives a Saleen?
The owner of a Saleen is well aware of the fact that he isn’t driving a car that has been “tricked out” by some backyard tuning company. Instead, he recognizes that inside lurks the work of a real artisan who truly improves on an original.
Rarity & Exclusivity
Recently ceasing production, Saleen is a rarity in the making. The company is sure to go down in history as one of the greats, meaning that a price increase is likely to be imminent and that the allure of the limited supply will strengthen its status among collectors.
