The CLK DTM AMG is without doubt the most desirable of the C209 CLK series. It was designed by the Mercedes racing department AMG to celebrate Bernd Schneider’s DTM championship in 2003. A series of only 100 vehicles, 80 of them LHD, was made for selected customers. It was as close to the race version as possible for a road legal car.
Its supercharged V8 (582 bhp) enabled an acceleration of just 3.8 seconds from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h). Many body parts, the rear wing and many parts of the interior are made of carbon fibre.
Front and rear track were widened by 74 and 110mm respectively and thanks to that and the revised suspension, the lateral acceleration was up to 1.35g.
The example on offer is finished in black metallic over a black leather and Alcantara interior and was delivered new in Germany (2005) to its first owner, it has only had one other private owner since. It comes with a recent check and service at Mercedes-Benz.
It is equipped with the optional roll bar.
The CLK DTM AMG is certainly one of the most collectible Mercedes-Benz models of the 21st century and one of the most exciting and exclusive ones, too.
