MERCEDES-BENZ 190 SL
INT. CODE: RDS00019
It was 1955 when, at the 25th Geneva Motor Show, the definitive version of the Mercedes 190 SL arrived for the first time.
Its birth was thanks to Maximilian Edwin Hoffman (American importer of Mercedes), who strongly wanted a Roadster model inspired by the 300 SL but more affordable.
In the era of the economic miracle, a prestigious car like the Mercedes 190 SL was just what was needed to power a category of young rampants with good economic possibilities. In fact, the Mercedes 190 SL represented the feeling of freedom of the "Swinging Fifties": the presence of the car in German films of the time such as "The Zillertal Twins", 1957 and "As Long As The Roses Are In Bloom" is proof of this. 1956; for the first time the car of one's dreams was within reach of such a large audience.
Almost 80% of all production was exported, half of these to the United States where roadsters have always been very popular. the proposed specimen is presented in impeccable conditions.
The car has been totally restored recently, all documented with a photo book. Car equipped with black Rome plates and ASI gold plate approval.
