Station Estate Wagon
A rare opportunity to own a piece of history, a 1935 Ford Model 48-790 ‘Woody' Station Wagon. The model that vaulted Ford ahead of Chevrolet in the pre-war Era! Frequently kept on summer estates, hotels, and resorts, this car coined the term “Station Wagon”. While roughly 4,500 were built in 1935, very few remain today.
A body-off restoration over 25 years ago included new paint, a new leather interior, a mechanical rebuild, and preservation of the all original maple and birch wood paneling. The underside is in pristine condition. This Deluxe Trim model features chrome trim around the grill, windshield and hood vents.
The 3.6L (221ci) V8 runs smoothly, quietly and cool with the addition of an all aluminum radiator and electric fan. The original 3-speed manual transmission was replaced with an automatic for drivability purposes. The electrical system was updated to 12 Volts and the brakes were upgraded to hydraulic assisted drums.
This Woody Station Wagon presents in extremely high quality condition. The perfect parade car, advertising piece or family cruiser. Prepare yourself for endless miles of smiles behind the wheel.
