"(Jolly) The name is appropriate: it is a hoot to drive. You will fall in love with it." –Classic & Sports Car magazine, May 2020

As the Hagerty folks explained: "Each Jolly was modified by Ghia to the buggy-like bodywork that characterized their silhouette. A fabric top (lined with fringe!) replaced the metal roof, the windshield trimmed down, and the body side were opened up to truly embrace the ocean air these would certainly be motoring around in. Wicker seats rounded out the package, which are friendlier to wet and sandy backsides than typical automotive upholstery."

"The target audience for the Jolly was wealthy seaside dwellers, who would use the car for short errands or take it with them on a yacht to use for transportation while in port." The story goes that the Jolly originally came about as the brainchild of a wealthy European industrialist who wanted a fun car capable of being transported from one Mediterranean coastal resort to the next on his 80-foot yacht. To say that these cars have attracted a passionate following among collectors these days is an understatement.

The 1958 Jolly offered here-one of fewer than 100 believed to still exist worldwide- is a collector-grade automobile, meticulously restored to the strictest factory specifications by FIat Jolly experts in southern California in 2013. It is a fully documented, concours-ready example in bright red with a whimsical red-and-white-striped, fringed surrey top. It is virtually impossible to look at the car and not experience a smile of delight.

The list of the car's unique features is nearly endless, and each one is a design delight: The "eyebrow" headlight trim... the combination of whitewall tires, red steel wheels, and chrome Fiat hubcaps... the friendly front "face"... the classic Fiat 600 and Ghia crown emblems (the Fiat emblem up front twists to release the hood)... the "Betty Boop" knob on the 4-speed transmission shifter... the chrome treatments on the side trim, rear grab-handles, and bumpers... the louvers on the engine-compartment door... those wicker seats (front folding and rear bench) with matching treatment on the dashboard grab-handle... the complementing woven floor mats... a steering wheel and dashboard design that seems to have sprung from a Disney imagination... perhaps the simplest speedometer on the planet... and of course there's the surrey top... and the fringe! With all of that, no side doors.

Literally, every single surface on this car is in pristine condition. Windshield, lighting lenses, chrome, paintwork, the new fabric top, wheels and new tires all show how perfectly the car was restored just 175 miles ago. Documentation of all the restoration work is included with the car. Notably, the 600cc, 28-horsepower, air-cooled engine has been completely and professionally rebuilt, even including a new carburetor from Italy. Not surprisingly, as seen on the rest of the car, the engine appears brand new. In the same way, the car's chassis-with its trademark front leaf spring and rear independent suspension-is flawless.

The Classic & Sports Car writer explained how compelling his short drive in the Jolly was: "You know you're onto a winner when even a police car stops and its occupants decamp to sit in a... Fiat, all the while giggling like loons. You don't get this sort of reaction with a Ferrari. But then this is no ordinary Fiat."

Particularly during the holidays, we're pleased to offer this spectacular Jolly. Just imagine how festive it'd look next to your Christmas tree!
