2006 Ferrari 575M Superamerica

About this car:  This one owner car is finished in red with tan interior and was delivered in the Ferrari Centre in Barcelona. It has a full service book with technical inspections from Ferrari.  It is equipped with the optional ’Handling GTC’ upgrade package which was developed for the Ferrari 575 GT Competizione Berlinetta, a model produced specifically for the FIA GT and GrandAm championships, this package is considered to be the most desirable option for the 575 model range as it includes carbon-ceramic brake discs with racing pads and special callipers; 19” wheels; stiffer suspension in ’Sport’ mode; a titanium racing exhaust; and ’faster’ calibration for the steering rack, greatly enhancing the performance of this already capable supercar. It is estimated that only 40% of Superamericas were built with this package.
Equipped with the desirable ’Handling GTC’ package, this supremely well specified Superamerica has covered only some 22,000 kilometres from new and is presented in excellent condition.

Model history: The world debut of the Superamerica took place on January 2005 at the North American Auto Show.  Its design has retained the balance of volumes typical of the 12 cylinders from Maranello, particularly of the F575M from which it was derived.   The Revocromico top blends perfectly with the body, thanks to two lateral fins which recall certain Ferraris of the past, and also act as a roll-bar.  It is a patented Fioranvanti design and opens in only ten seconds using a single axis rotating mechanism with electrochromic technology.  The transparency of the glass can be adjusted to transmit varying amounts of light, letting in approximately the same amount of light as a conventional glass sunroof at its lightest setting and only 1% of the sun’s rays at its darkest. The longitudinal from-mounted 12 cylinder engine (5783cc) has the 65º V with four overhead cam shafts, four valves per cylinder and produces 515 bhp and has proven to be extremely reliable.  The car is equipped with an adaptive suspension based on on four shock absorbers and six accelerometers which read the type of road surface and adjusts the suspension automatically via two control options (Sport and Comfort). The six speed F1 electronic gearbox can shift gears in 180 thousandths of a second (in manual sport mode) and improve comfort in automatic mode.  Only 559 units were produced making this open top 12 cylinder Ferrari a true collector’s piece.
