The Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer (512 BB) is the successor to the Ferrari 365 GT/4 BB. The 5-litre V12 is a reworked version of the one in the 365 and it has a power of 360 PS, which allows, as Ferrari states, a top speed of 302 km/h, making it the fastest production car at its time.
Due to the strict emission standards in the US, Ferrari introduced the 512 BBi, in 1981. The BBi featured a new injection system that decreased the fuel consumption of the car but it also decreased the power by roughly 15 hp, making the 512 BBi a little bit slower than the 512 BB.
In 1984 the 512 BBi got succeeded by the Ferrari Testarossa. The Ferrari Testarossa then later changed its name into 512 TR and its successor was called 512 M.
