352 ps (262 kw)
In 1966, Ferruccio Lamborghini released his legendary Lamborghini Miura, GT V12 central-rear transverse engine that revolutionized the world of GT, exceeding the 275 GTB Ferrari. The success of this model stung Enzo Ferrari who decides to replicate with its new 365 GTB / 4 Daytona V12 front engine, one of the masterpieces of the brand designed by Gian-Battista PininFarina. It was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show 1968. Succeeding the 275 GTB / 4, the Daytona is, like its predecessor, a classic design car, that is to say a berlinette with a front engine, in accordance with Enzo Ferrari's vision of a sports car. The engine is a 4.4-liter V12 with four overhead camshafts and dry sump but with two valves per cylinder, single ignition and hemispherical combustion chamber. The whole is powered by 6 carburettors Weber double 40mm body. The transmission architecture is transaxle type, the gearbox is positioned on the rear axle, in order to ensure a good distribution of masses between the front and rear axles. 1,230 copies only produced from 1968 to 1973.
