Description
An oval lapis bowl of immense size and beauty on a lapis socle, joined by a silver goldplated frame.
Inside of the thin-walled bowl a scene with horses is engraved.
It shows the cycle of a horse´s life: a grazing mare with colt symbolizes the beginnings of a noble breed. Followed by the youth: a galloping herd of young horses. And finally the rearing stallion leading the herd.
The composition is framed into a plain silver goldplated bowl edge.
The socle shows an engraved lotus relief as symbol for permanence and the eternal cycle of life.
Engravings of such size in a bowl seem to be world unique. It took 12 months to finish. Carving wheels of diamond have a diameter of 0,5 - 3 mm.
